Your story, illustrated in Nelly’s style
A personal portrait with Nelly Castro’s distinctive, playful character: softly textured colours, expressive clothing, simplified faces and deliberately stylised proportions. The example portraits show the artistic language in which your illustration will be created. Facial expressions, the treatment of the eyes and body proportions remain part of this signature style throughout the process.
Familiar details make the portrait yours: a favourite outfit, a particular hairstyle, glasses, signature shoes or a much-loved bag. These details carry personal recognition in an abstract illustration; fine facial likeness is not its focus. Please look through the examples before ordering.
If you choose a background, Nelly will suggest the setting with a few subtle elements, keeping the focus on the person. This option is a light, understated backdrop rather than a detailed architectural or landscape illustration. The images shown are style examples, not a preview of your finished portrait.
What to send us
Please provide clear reference photos and a description of the person: tell us about their hairstyle, hair colour, typical clothing and colours, glasses and any defining accessories. Describe the pets and selected objects too, and explain your wishes for the arrangement and any background. Include all important details at this stage so Nelly can work from a clear brief.
You can upload your photos with your order or choose to send them later. To send missing photos or information afterwards, contact us with your order number.
How your portrait is created

Order and share your brief. Your portrait includes one person. Choose your pets, objects and background, then send your photos and descriptions. Your order joins our production pipeline; illustration work does not begin immediately after checkout.

Questions, if needed. Nelly reviews your materials and may contact you by email to clarify details.

Your first draft by email. You will receive the first draft approximately three weeks after we have received all required photos and information and clarified any open questions.

One revision round is included. Review the draft carefully and send your requested adjustments together in one reply. The price includes one round of adjustments within the agreed brief and Nelly’s illustration style. Further revision rounds are not included.

Your approval, then printing. Once you approve the illustration, it is sent to the printer. Please check all details before giving your approval. Your portrait is printed on 350 g/m² paper in 30 × 40 cm.

Printing and dispatch. Allow up to two weeks after approval for printing and preparation for dispatch. This stage can take longer during the summer. Shipping time is additional and depends on the destination.
Please plan enough time
The first draft and printing are separate stages. The time you need to review the draft, the included revision round and any missing information can extend the overall schedule. If you send your photos later, the draft timeframe starts only when your brief is complete and open questions have been clarified. We therefore do not promise a fixed delivery date from the day of purchase. If the portrait is for a particular occasion, contact us before ordering to check whether your date is possible.
