A cup of coffee and a few lines on paper

A cup of coffee and a few lines on paper

I like a cappuccino with oat milk in the morning. In the afternoon, it might be a matcha latte. And somewhere nearby, there is usually something to write on.

I enjoy putting a few thoughts on paper with a drink beside me. Sometimes it is an idea for a drawing, sometimes a list, sometimes something I do not want to forget. It does not have to turn into anything particularly interesting.

A notebook does not need a plan

The word “journaling” can make it sound as though there are rules. I prefer to think of it as a place to put whatever is in your head. You can write a sentence, make a small sketch or leave the page half empty.

A cup you like and paper you enjoy writing on make that little pause more inviting. They do not have to do anything more than that.

If you have been saving a notebook for a special occasion, perhaps an ordinary afternoon is a good enough occasion. Make yourself something to drink and start wherever you like.

Un abrazo,
Nelly
